Doula Services

When I am chosen as your doula, you will receive:

  • Access to my lending library. Birthing and parenting books and online resources are available to you. I have an extensive library because I am also a childbirth educator.

  • Birth Plan assistance. I will answer your questions about different aspects of your birth plan and will help you write them down if requested.

  • Client workbook. All clients receive a workbook tailored to helping you develop your birth philosophy, communicate with your team, work through any fears, record your birth story…and so much more! This 46 page workbook is yours to keep.

  • 1-2 Prenatal visits (more if requested) I like to meet with you and your labor partner before labor to become better acquainted with each other. At these visits we will explore and discuss your birth plan priorities and any fears or concerns you may have, and plan how we might best work together to help soothe those fears or concerns. We will review labor stages and support techniques, along with your preferences for your experience. I welcome the opportunity to meet with your physician or midwife at a regular scheduled prenatal visit. We might decide on more meetings and will remain in touch by email and telephone on a more frequent basis as your birth approaches.

  • Email, text and phone availability throughout your pregnancy and 24/7 phone and text support the month of your due date.

  • On call availability from 37 weeks until you have your baby.

  • Continuous birth doula support as soon as you request it. I will meet you at your home or your place of birth when my assistance is requested and stay continuously until your baby is born.

  • Comfort techniques during labor including: massage, relaxation and pain management techniques, rebozo techniques, a birth sling, Spinning Babies® and Body Ready Method® techniques, positioning suggestions, access to a TENS unit, plus information about medical procedures when needed.

  • Post-birth care. I will stay after your birth for 1-2 hours and help with initiating breastfeeding as needed. When your family is comfortable and settled, I will leave you to enjoy your new family.

  • Back-up doula availability. In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend your birth due to unforeseen circumstances, I have other qualified doulas I work with to ensure you have the support you need.

  • Referrals for post-partum support.

  • One postpartum visit (more if requested) to admire your new baby, discuss your birth, and assist with any breastfeeding and/or parenting questions.

  • New Mommy support. You are always welcome to call, text, or email me with questions!

Pricing for this comprehensive package is $1600.

My husband and I chose Jennifer based on the recommendation of an acquaintance, and we are so thankful that we did! In terms of her skill as a doula— I cannot vouch more strongly for her. Meeting ahead of time, she learns her clients likes/dislikes so that she is prepared come labor. Her guidance leading up to labor as I was coping with some prodromal labor was incredibly comforting and helpful. When it came to labor itself, she and my husband were incredibly supportive through a 22-hour-long unmedicated birth. She truly was such a calming and encouraging presence, for both myself and my husband. She also has certifications to back up her knowledge when it comes to most effective labor positions and also the best ways to help a woman prepare for labor. Jennifer is a wonderful person, and I would recommend her doula services and her birthing class in a heartbeat to all.
